Guilford College's Department of Accounting offers two majors in Accounting for students. The first is the traditional Bachelor of Science in Accounting which is for accounting majors who wish to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in their last semester. The second choice is the Forensic Accounting degree which is for students who prefer investigative accounting and prepares students for the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) exam in their last semester as undergraduates. At Guilford College Experiential Education - a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage their students in direct experiences and focused reflection in order to develop skills, knowledge, and values - is the foundation of all classroom experiences. Guilford College also emphasizes the importance of hands-on learning by providing many study abroad opportunities for undergraduates and over 1/3 of students participate in study abroad programs. Guilford College has been included in Princeton Review's "Best Colleges" edition for the past 18 years.
