Arizona State University offers an undergraduate accounting program through its School of Accountancy, a department within the renowned W.P. Carey School of Business. The accountancy major prepares you for a wide range of accounting careers using a curriculum that places emphasis on information technology skills.

In their first semester, students gain a head start on their accounting education by taking the required Leadership, Ethics, Accountability and Professionalism (LEAP) course, which is designed to facilitate their transition into higher learning. In addition to serving as a foundational career exploration course, LEAP introduces students to their first networking opportunities, requiring that they participate in weekly meetings with representatives from major accounting firms.

As they their time at Arizona State progresses, accountancy majors regularly consult with faculty advisors. Their advisor’s goal is to assist students with their academic and professional development by providing major-specific guidance. Qualified students can also use the school’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, a professional fraternity for high-achieving accounting students, as a source of support as they explore their career options.
