The University of Pittsburgh's accounting program, emphasizes developing the interpersonal, computer and communication skills necessary to resolve problems and challenges faced by today’s professional accountant.  The University of Pittsburgh’s Pitt Business College of Business Administration, ranks in the top 10 percent of U.S. Research Universities. The College of Business Administration encourages accounting students to study abroad in the school’s International Internship Program to enhance students’ business education and cultivate a global perspective. This internship program is uniquely designed to complement the business and accounting curriculums. In order to build the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing business world, accounting students are encouraged to network and gain skills in the University of Pennsylvania Accounting Association and national accounting fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi. Accounting majors at University of Pittsburgh must complete Business Administration core courses as well as accounting courses.

University of Scranton's Department of Accounting, offered through the Kania School of Management, has developed four undergraduate degrees in accounting to meet the individual needs of students with specific accounting career goals. These majors in accounting improve students' success by providing attractive internship possibilities, outstanding alumni connections, excellent job placement, knowledgeable faculty members, and small classes. University of Scranton's Kania School of Management gives students opportunities to become involved in faculty research with the Faculty/Student Research Program (FSRP). This program involves students completing tasks that range from relatively routine to more sophisticated research, and creates a solid network between students and their instructors. University of Scranton is a Jesuit institution that is known for its state of the art campus. The average undergraduate class size at University of Scranton is 10-19 students.

Villanova University's accounting program is offered through the schools’ College of Business and is ranked the #7 undergraduate business school in the nation by Bloomberg Business Week.  Villanova University is the only university in the world founded by the Roman Catholic Order of Saint Augustine and supports the Augustinian values of leading through service, caring, community and the merits of truth. The Villanova University School of Business recently underwent a $26 million dollar renovation and now has a high-tech Applied Finance Lab where students use the same technology as Wall Street traders in their simulated trading room. Coursework integrates social responsibility, business skills, and ethics. The student-to-faculty ratio at Villanova School of Business is 15:1, and the average class size is 28. The Clay Center at Villanova School of Business coordinates academic advising programs, peer-advising programs, peer tutoring and supports internship and Co-Op programs.

The Muhlenberg Accounting Program at Muhlenberg College develops communication and interpersonal skills for today's careers in accounting. Students develop ethical standards and advance leadership skills as well. Accounting students are encouraged to spend a semester studying in Washington D.C., or studying abroad. Students fulfill requirements in liberal arts as well as economics, finance, business, and elective courses for a broad, educational range. Muhlenberg College uses a course system intended to highlight the mastery of subject matter, instead of a credit system that measures achievement based on time spent in class. Courses are an entire learning experience, which may include computer work, group projects, lectures, discussions, recitation, and instruction. A typical full-time accounting student is enrolled in four class units per semester, which includes four courses, the activities those courses encompass, and the hours students spend studying outside of the classroom. Accounting courses cover written and oral communication, analysis of data, global issues, evaluation of ethical dilemmas, and the use of information technology for communicating financial information.

Group work and in-class presentations are common in accounting courses as well as computer applications, library research and writing exercises. The Accounting Club at Susquehanna University exposes students to available careers in the accounting field. The Investment Club cultivates an understanding of the stock market. The honor society for the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Beta Gamma Sigma, brings top accounting students together to network and learn.

Temple University

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, offered through Temple University's Fox School of Business, educates students in the framework of accounting, financial reporting, and developing leadership skills. Coursework outside of the major is required in the areas of the humanities, social sciences, environment of business, and written and oral communications. Students are also encouraged to actively participate in one of the active accounting student organizations on campus. The national scholastic and professional fraternity Beta Alpha Psi, sponsors weekly events and meetings to orient students in business, accounting, and information systems. The Institute of Management Accountants at Temple (IMA-T) provides students with exposure to top firms and corporations in the Delaware Valley. The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) centers on career development and community service for students of color. Guest speakers often give presentations for NABA members, and frequently collect resumes. NABA sponsors the adopt-a-school program and also has an in-house mentoring program. Ascend is a Pan-Asian professional organization that provides exposure to hiring firms and $60,000 in scholarships annually. Temple University's chapter of Ascend is open to students of all ethnic backgrounds.
