Purdue University, a prestigious public university with six campuses across Indiana, offers an undergraduate accounting program designed to prepare students for a variety of careers or for advanced professional study. The school says its graduates are particularly well suited for entry-level positions in corporate accounting and consulting, but will also have a strong foundation for careers in the public and government sectors.

Valparaiso University in Indiana offers two undergraduate accounting programs. The accounting major in the Bachelor of Science in business administration is popular among students who don’t plan on going into public accounting; the program fulfills the education requirement for most professional accounting certifications with the exception of the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) credential. Many students in this program opt to complete second majors in business disciplines that reflect their professional aspirations.

These students can expect small class sizes designed to encourage frequent interaction between students and faculty members.
