Emory University's Goizueta Business School, which offers a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, has been ranked number three in Bloomberg BusinessWeek's survey of Best Business Schools in 2011. Accounting undergraduates can take part in many of the schools’ research projects and initiatives among them the Goizueta Business Library, the Emory Marketing and Analytics Center and the Emory Center for Alternative Investments. Research from Emory University's Accounting department has been published in many leading academic accounting journals. Emory University is affiliated with the Methodist church, though students do not have to be practitioners to attend.

The undergraduate Accounting program offered in the J.M. Tull School of Accounting, housed within University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, is ranked 6th in the U.S. by Public Accounting Report and 17th by U.S. News and World Report. Students at the J.M. Tull School of Accounting consistently have the some of the highest scores on the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam at two and a half to three times higher than the national average. Tull School of Accounting places strong emphasis on national service and the faculty is known for setting high standards in the classroom. Internships are not required, but are strongly encouraged. University of Georgia undergraduates may apply for admission to the graduate school during their senior year and typically complete the Master of Accounting in only one additional academic year.

The accounting major at Wesleyan College, offered through the Department of Business and Economics, offers a unique combination of courses for students in the social sciences and humanities as well as accounting. Wesleyan College's Institute of Management Accountants is a very good place for students to research the Certified Managerial Accountant designation. The Institute of Internal Auditing is for Wesleyan accounting majors who are interested in pursuing an investigative role in accounting. Business and Accounting are among the top five most popular majors at Wesleyan College. Internships are required of all accounting majors for graduation. Accounting majors are encouraged to study abroad during their junior or senior year. Scholarships and awards are abundant for students of the accounting major and include; the Wall Street Journal Achievement Award, the Academic Excellence Award, Government Employees Insurance Company Achievement Award, the Alpha Kappa Psi Key and Certificate and the Nora Kay Appling Scholarship Achievement Award. Wesleyan College holds the distinct honor as the first college in the world chartered to grant advanced degrees to women.
